Roots Music. Poland – Norway
10 July 2014
On 14 August 2014 the village of Radziejowice, central Poland, will welcome the International Musicological Conference “Roots Music. Poland – Norway” held by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute in Warsaw.
The conference will revolve around traditional music of Poland and Norway – concentrating both on the interpenetrating mutual influences between the two nations’ musical and dance traditions and elements specifically characteristic for each of them. Apart from lectures from Polish and Norwegian speakers, discussions and interesting meetings, participants are also invited to take part in workshops on Polish and Norwegian traditional dance. The conference will culminate with a concert by Norway’s Feleboga band and Poland’s Prusinowski Trio.
Participation in the conference is free. Please register by submitting a completed registration form to firstname.lastname@example.org on 31 July 2014 at the latest.
